USPS Star Trek stamps will be discontinued as of December 30th, 2019
If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on some Star Trek stamps, now would be a really good time to go out and get them. The 50th Anniversary Star Trek Forever stamps from the US Postal Service will be discontinued after next Monday, December 30th. The stamps were first issued in September 2016, commemorating 50 years of Star Trek.
According to the USPS website, “Each of the 20 self-adhesive Star Trek stamps showcases one of four digital illustrations inspired by elements of the classic TV show: the Starship Enterprise inside the outline of a Starfleet insignia against a gold background, the silhouette of a crewman in a transporter against a red background, the silhouette of the Enterprise from above against a green background, and the Enterprise inside the outline of the Vulcan salute (Spock's iconic hand gesture) against a blue background. The stamp sheet includes five of each design. The words FOREVER USA, separated by a small Starfleet insignia, appear along the top edge or the bottom edge of each stamp. The words SPACE... THE FINAL FRONTIER, from Captain Kirk's famous voice-over, appear beneath the stamps against a background of stars.”
A sheet of 20 stamps is $11.00, and you can also buy a collector’s press sheet with die cuts, with six total panes, for $66.00. Both options are available from the USPS website.
Once again, the last day to order the USPS Star Trek 50th-Anniversary stamps is Monday, December 30th. Get in there while you can!
And a big thanks to Ken for turning me on to this story.
