WATCH: Anson Mount announces the official wrap of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 1
OCTOBER 11, 2021 - It’s official: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season one has wrapped all live-action filming, according to a video from star Anson Mount which dropped on Monday via the official Paramount+ video channel. This news comes just a couple months after Mount announced the end of principal photography via Twitter, where he noted that they still had pick-up shots that would be “tackled this fall.” With this latest video, those pick-ups are clearly in the can, as Mount reports with gratitude and excitement. Still, he manages to avoid specifics on how long this next step will take: “So all of our footage now gets to go over to our incredible post-production team to begin their process, and hopefully we’ll be getting something out to you sometime…next year.”
Apart from announcing that Strange New Worlds now enters post-production, Mount took advantage of the moment to once again thank the fans who rallied behind him and his co-stars following Discovery season two, which convinced the powers-that-be that more adventures of Captain Pike’s Enterprise crew were warranted.
“I just want to remind you,” he said, “that this is happening because of you, the fans. You made this happen, and we are so grateful for your support. […] Again, thank you for giving us this opportunity, and we hope you like it.”
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will premiere on Paramount+ sometime in 2022. While you wait, relive our first encounter with the early crew of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek: Discovery season two, now streaming.
