Zachary Quinto confirms (again) that he would “absolutely” be willing to return to Star Trek films
Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto let it be known that the cast of the Kelvin Timeline Star Trek films want to return for another adventure. Quinto made an appearance this week on the CBS talk show The Talk while promoting his new film, The Boys in the Band. As reported by TrekMovie.com, the interview shed some light on the feelings of the cast about returning to the Enterprise.
In the interview, Quinto was asked if he would be willing to “put on the Vulcan ears a fourth time.” Quinto responded by saying, “Absolutely! We talk about it all the time as the crew of the Enterprise. We are all incredibly good friends in real life. All of us welcome the opportunity to go back and keep telling those stories.” The actor took a moment to acknowledge the expansion of the television production of Star Trek in recent years, alluding to the many different Star Trek series currently in development or production. “It seems like a bit of a saturated market at this point,” Quinto said, “so I am not sure what the plans are for the feature film versions of the franchise, but we are all here if they want to beam us up.”
Quinto’s words echo his sentiments from back in June, when he told Comicbook.com he’d be “thrilled” to go back to Star Trek. But with the Trek film franchise currently in limbo, it might all be a moot point.
Meanwhile, Star Trek on CBS All Access continues apace, with the penultimate Star Trek: Lower Decks now streaming, and gearing up for the premiere of Star Trek: Discovery season three, in just under two weeks’ time.
