Zen Studios Releases Classic 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' Pinball Game

STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION Pinball arrives on video game systems today.

AUGUST 24, 2023 - In November of 1993, Williams Electronics Games released a new pinball machine based on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Williams was a subsidiary company of electronic gaming and amusement manufacturer WMS Industries which was based (get this!) in Enterprise, Nevada.

When all was said and done, there were nearly 12,000 units of the TNG game produced and they were sold worldwide, from the United States to the United Kingdom to the Netherlands to the Czech Republic to Korea. Apart from many characters, aliens, and ships from the series, the table utilized voice clips from the series, including all the regular characters (post-Wil Wheaton leaving the series) and Majel Barrett and John DeLancie.

For many a TNG fan, it was a dream pinball table, providing hours of amusement. The good news is you can purchase one of the tables on eBay for the low, low price of $10,495.00. Or you could save several thousand dollars by downloading the game digitally.

Hungarian video game company Zen Studios, known for porting classic and original pinball machines into the digital arena, are today releasing their version of the TNG pinball table on XBox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch, and on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

If their past pinball games for franchises like Marvel and Star Wars are any indication, this new game will look, sound, and feel authentic to its original form while taking up far less space. We’re looking forward to getting our hands on it to try it out!
