Zoe Saldana Weighs In On Why the Next Star Trek Movie Is On Hold

NOVEMBER 6, 2022 - As we reported HERE this past September, the Star Trek Kelvin Timeline, movie franchise is once again on hold. And now another of its stars, Zoe Saldana, who plays Lieutenant Uhura, has shared her belief as to why.
Everyone had been in touch with J.J. Abrams and all were excited to do another one. She shared that it appears to her, to be a scheduling conflict. With that many actors having successful careers and working on other projects, it’s difficult to get everyone together again, even as much as they all want to.
We were in touch with J.J. and we were trying to sort of see if we were going to be able to see this past fall, I don't think it was possible. I have more sort of ideas that maybe it was just schedules, we couldn't manage to get a whole cast and a whole crew to come together, but I think as well it has something else to do with the project. I know that we're all on the same page, we would love nothing more than to be able to come back.
So, here we are. While the current movie production is on hold, it seems that the cast (and even Thor’s Chris Hemsworth) are all eager to make another one happen. Time will tell as to if and when we’ll Trek to a theater to see the fourth installment of the Kelvin timeline franchise. Just as many of our beloved Trek characters have risen from the grave, we hope this will one day soon be back on the schedule.
