A series of Tweets confirms that Star Trek: Discovery season 5 is now filming
JUNE 15, 2022 - Last Friday we let you know about Michelle Paradise enigmatically tweeting “Hello, Toronto,” implying that filming on season five of Star Trek: Discovery would soon be underway. Well, you can stock up on the popcorn, as now the word is out that filming is underway.
Day 1 of #StarTrekDiscovery season 5! For those asking for spoilers, I’m happy to announce that Orange Cone is indeed returning… and she brought her conelings with her! They did a great job staying quiet and still during takes. I managed to sneak some pics. (shhh… don’t tell…) pic.twitter.com/IUFOgZyIf5

While Paradise went so far as to spoil the presence of Orange Cone in her tweet on Monday announcing “Day 1 of #StarTrekDiscovery season 5,” motion graphics designer Timothy Peel was more straightforward on Tuesday with his post saying, “We officially started shooting the last ep of SNW SE02 and the first 2 ep of Disco SE05 yesterday.”
#StarTrek #StarTrekSNW #StarTrekDiscovery Finally have some free time to post. We officially started shooting the last ep of SNW SE02 and the first 2 ep of Disco SE05 yesterday. It’s been busy to say the least. As a fan I think these may be the best seasons for both series.

And everyone’s favorite Kelpian, Doug Jones, went even farther and posted a video on Saturday of himself with hair clippers and saying, “Sure enough, here comes season five.”

There is no premiere date yet for season five, so you don’t need to make that popcorn yet. Unless you want to catch up on the first four seasons of Discovery, which are streaming now on Paramount+.
