Amazon’s Alexa thinks Picard is the best Star Trek captain, naturally
Even Amazon’s Alexa has her opinions about who the best Star Trek captain is.
Yesterday, Amazon posted on Twitter that Sir Patrick Stewart and Alex Kurtzman visited their offices, and included a short video of the visit. In the tweet, they said, “Thanks to @SirPatStew and #Picard Executive Producer @Alex_Kurtzman who stopped by our offices to talk about the new #StarTrek series, which premieres in January, and meet some Amazonians at work.” In the video, Stewart and Kurtzman accompany Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos into an office where he explains that they employ a team of comedy writers to help give Alexa a sense of humor.
During the visit, Stewart asked Alexa, “Who is your favorite Star Trek captain?” Alexa’s answer? “Of all the captains in all the galaxies, Captain Picard is my favorite.”

While Star Trek: Picard will be carried exclusively on CBS All Access in the United States and Bell Media in Canada, it’s Amazon Prime Video that will carry the series in other countries. That’s unlike Star Trek: Discovery, which is carried by Netflix outside the US and Canada.
Star Trek: Picard is due to premiere on January 23rd, 2020.
