INTERVIEW: Billingsley, Frakes, Shimerman, and Swink On 'Star Trek' and PanCAN
APRIL17, 2023 - John Billingsley, Jonathan Frakes, Armin Shimerman, and Kitty Swink have each appeared in various iterations of the 'Star Trek' franchise, but they have something else in common. They've each been touched in some way by pancreatic cancer. Over 64,000 Americans are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every year, and these four actors are active with PanCAN, an organization dedicated to helping those who have been diagnosed and their families. On this special edition of Daily Star Trek News, Managing Editor T. Rick Jones speaks with them about 'Star Trek's past and present, and also about PanCAN's PurpleStride, a charity walk with the goal of raising money and awareness about the disease and hopefully, someday, eradicating it. PurpleStride takes place across the US on Saturday, April 29. Please consider supporting the Trek Against Pancreatic Cancer team via the link below. Be warned: There are some minor spoilers about 'Star Trek: Picard' season 3 in this video.
