JULY 14, 2022 - In a potential upset for science fiction and fantasy collectors everywhere, reports are coming in that Eaglemoss LTD (often referred to as Hero Collector) has filed a “Notice of Intention” with the objective of securing an administrator amid what are likely financial difficulties for the company. The news was first reported by Greg Connell, Managing director of Infolink Gazette, a media outlet that specializes in being an up-to-date source for commercial risk management. Rumors of Eaglemoss’ possible restructure (or closure) have spread like the proverbial wildfire over the last twenty-four hours. Considering the breadth of fandom catered to by Eaglemoss, including Doctor Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica (and many more), it’s no surprise that more than a few fans are upset.

To be fair, there is no conclusive proof that Eaglemoss has ceased operations of the production and distribution of the numerous collections and builds available through the company. That being said, it didn’t take long for fans to notice the company’s customer service line is currently inoperative. Similarly, the Eaglemoss Facebook page, along with all eBay listings have also mysteriously disappeared.

Connel commented on the scope of influence Eaglemoss has on the consumer, saying, “Eaglemoss is one of the world’s biggest names in licensed collectible[s], marketing and distributing more than 150 collections in more than 30 markets.” Greg added, “revenue peaked at £68 million but had fallen to £31.6 million in the last filed accounts.”

The lack of information has left subscribers and fans alike wondering if their orders will be fulfilled, with many fans currently undertaking extensive model builds (such as the Ecto-1 and Titanic) that may never be fulfilled by the company.

Unfortunately, there has been no official word from Hero Collector regarding the state of the company, or the ability to fulfill outstanding orders. You can be sure that we will keep you up to date on this developing story.
