CBS All Access bafflingly tweets old Star Trek: Discovery trailer just after Picard premiere
There’s a new trailer for Star Trek: Discovery season 3...actually, no there isn’t.
Sorry for getting your hopes up, but that’s exactly what Star Trek on CBS All Access did on Twitter last Friday. At the height of Star Trek: Picard mania, they bafflingly tweeted a trailer for Disco season 3, with the caption, “Never lose hope. #StarTrekDiscovery Season 3, coming soon to @CBSAllAccess.”

Some fans, including yours truly, were confused by the timing - just a day after the premiere of Star Trek: Picard - but nonetheless excited to hear more about season 3, since we’ve now heard from both star Sonequa Martin-Green and producer Heather Kadin that it’s on its way imminently.
But sadly, the trailer is merely the same teaser that CBS All Access showed us at New York Comic Con, except with “New Season Coming Soon” replacing “New Season 2020”. We’ll just have to wait for more.
The first episode of Star Trek: Picard is now streaming, and the series will run through the end of March. As Heather Kadin said last week, Discovery season 3 could be ready as early as May, but CBS All Access have yet to confirm a release date.
