Star Trek star and internet personality George Takei is to appear as a special headline guest on this year’s holiday voyage of the cruise liner Queen Mary 2.

Sailing from New York on December 22nd, the 12-night Caribbean Celebration voyage also features guest speakers artist Giancarlo Impiglia and author Sebastian Faulks, as well as a wide variety of dining and entertainment experiences.

During the voyage, Takei will be offering two presentations: a talk focussing on American history and his time in a Japanese American WWII internment camp, and one focussing on his Hollywood career and behind the scenes anecdotes. Takei will also be hosting a Q&A and a book signing for guests.

Takei said of the voyage, “I am looking forward to spending the holidays onboard the magnificent ocean liner Queen Mary 2 this December. I have sailed on this ship before – the staff go above and beyond to make every day memorable and the guests are engaging and interested to hear about my life and work. I have no doubt this will be another exceptional experience.”

Prices for the voyage vary, but will run you a few thousand dollars per person, depending on your room preference. Once again, that voyage sails from New York on the Queen Mary 2 on December 22nd, and you can find more information about the Caribbean Celebration featuring George Takei on Cunard’s website.
