AUGUST 4, 2021 - With the Star Trek Online release of House United for PC and, earlier this week, for console gaming, Cryptic Studios has produced a “Klingon Defense Force Guide”, aimed at encouraging players to take up the bat’leth and fight for the glory of the Empire as the civil war draws to a close. In the game’s latest update, Klingon players will find themselves battling alongside or against classic Klingon characters such as Worf, Martok, L’Rell, and Gowron - all in their original voice.
From the guide: “The storyline in Star Trek Online takes its cue from over 50 years of Star Trek television and films, exploring the deep culture and roots of a Klingon warrior. Earn honor for your house, challenge the dishonorable, and even descend into the depths of Grethor itself. Will you write your deeds in the books of history? Only you can decide that.”
The new guide walks you through the many options available for Klingon players, including a written layout of different Klingon factions, available uniforms and weapons, as well as detailed information on six different Klingon ships - and how to choose the right ship for your needs.
One ship, for example, is the Mogh Class Battlecruiser. If that name sounds familiar to you, it’s for good reason. This battlecruiser was designed by a team led by none other than Worf. Worf named the class of vessel after his father, who died at Khitomer in 2346.
With rich attention to detail in the artistry, storytelling and player experience, Star Trek Online’s House United is a vivid exploration of Klingon culture. The new “Klingon Defense Force Guide” gives you a bit of an edge in navigating the challenges of that life during a critical time in their society.
