Go on a wild ride in the latest Star Trek: Lower Decks season 2 teaser
JULY 13, 2021 - This isn’t Trek Trivia, but did you know that Federation starbases have shopping malls? At least the starbase does where the U.S.S. Cerritos is docked among other familiar-looking vessels in the new teaser for season two of Star Trek: Lower Decks.

TrekNews.net wrote up a helpful breakdown of some of the Easter eggs packed into the 15 second long clip. In it, we see Mariner and Boimler, apparently reunited after the events of the season one finale. They’re speeding through the mall in a two-seater, Mariner at the wheel, with security in hot pursuit. They are in white uniforms similar to those in Star Trek: Insurrection. Mariner’s sleeves are rolled up; she means business. After losing some of what appear to be Data action figures, they crash through the front window of an establishment called The Lucky Ferengi and veer down the concourse toward a group of Antedians, the fish-like species from the Star Trek: The Next Generation season two episode “Manhunt”. After crashing again, through an aquarium of some sort, they leave us wondering what happens next. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long as Lower Decks season two is due to premiere in just under a month, on Thursday, August 12th.
Until then, there is plenty of time to catch up on Star Trek: Lower Decks season one, streaming now on Paramount+.
