JULY 17, 2023 - Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2 is halfway over, and while it is not universally hailed as the best modern Trek show, it certainly has a preponderance of fans proclaiming it as such. Each episode is a short film, beautifully shot, using camera tricks, an Augmented Reality wall, and practical sets to transport viewers to…well, strange new worlds. I had the pleasure of sitting down with one of the directors of photography for the season, Benji Bakshi, to talk to him about how the magic is made.
