Jonathan Frakes has revealed a tidbit about his role as Riker in Star Trek: Picard.

Speaking to IGN.com about his plans for Star Trek Las Vegas, he touched on the roles that he and his on-screen wife Marina Sirtis have been given in the new series. When we last saw the couple in Star Trek: Nemesis, they were leaving Enterprise for Riker’s own command, the USS Titan. But it sounds like we may not be getting to see that ship after all. Frakes said, ““I can't obviously tell you, but Marina and I... Well, you'll see where we are. We're together, and it's quite... it's non-military. I'll say that.”

In the same article, IGN also noted that after filming his parts in Star Trek: Picard, Frakes was returning to Toronto to direct two more episodes of Star Trek: Discovery. He noted the difference in two shows, “Disco has a very cinematic, conscious sort of J.J. [Abrams] lens flare style [...] Picard is a little more contemplative, and so you can't be unmotivated camera moves and all kinds of lens flares. And all that J.J. stuff doesn't fly so much on Picard unless you're in the middle of some sort of action. So the shooting style is a little bit different.”

Jonathan Frakes is here at Star Trek Las Vegas this weekend, so be sure to tune in to Monday’s show to find out all the rest of the juicy tidbits from the weekend’s panels.
