Laurence Luckinbill Joins 'Star Trek' Luminaries in Documentary 'To Boldly Go'
AUGUST 24, 2023 - Science fiction enthusiasts and Star Trek fans have the chance to back a Kickstarter campaign for To Boldly Go, an upcoming documentary that delves into 60 years of Hollywood history by revisiting the iconic filming locations of beloved Star Trek episodes and movies.
The campaign, which has achieved 60% of its funding goal, is spearheaded by Writer/Producer Mark A. Altman, renowned for his work on The CW's docu-series The Greatest Geek Year Ever: 1982, and backed by a team of industry experts, promises an immersive journey through time and space, guided by the very people who helped create these legendary tales.
The documentary's campaign premiered at the San Diego Comic-Con, generating immense excitement that has been consistently building as it approaches its final weeks. With ample time still left for backers to show their support, the project offers a range of enticing rewards, from exclusive enamel pins and autographed discs to the opportunity to visit authentic Star Trek filming locations accompanied by cast and crew members.
To Boldly Go is a unique blend of travelog, history lesson, and entertainment, set to feature stars, directors, writers, and producers from various Star Trek series and films, sharing their insights and anecdotes about the filming locations that have contributed to the franchise's illustrious history over the past six decades.
Leading the journey is none other than Terry Farrell, the beloved star of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, who will be the host of this grand adventure. Joining her are the hosts of Inglorious Treksperts - Altman, Daren Dochterman, and Ashley E. Miller - as well as a constellation of Star Trek personalities. Laurence Luckinbill, known for his portrayal of "Sybok" in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier,is the latest addition to a pantheon of Trek luminaries that includes Cynthia Gouw, J.C. Brandy, Kirk Thatcher, Hazel Honeysuckle, and Doug Drexler.
