Leslie Jordan, Star Trek: Voyager's Kol, Dies In Car Crash
OCTOBER 26, 2022 - In roles in productions ranging from Will & Grace to American Horror Story, he brought his unique voice and presence to the screen and, as himself, to social media, as recently as last Sunday. Sadly, Leslie Jordan died the next morning in a car crash at the age of 67, according to The New York Times.
Star Trek fans will know him as the Ferengi Kol in the Star Trek: Voyager season three episode, “False Profits.” Memory Alpha also notes that Jordan and Kate Mulgrew were born on the same day, April 29, 1955.
After over 130 film and television credits, Jordan garnered millions of followers on Instagram with “quirky” videos during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jordan was born in Memphis and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and he eventually decided to act and made his way to Hollywood with “$1,200 that mother pinned into my underpants.” He started landing television roles in the mid-80s and won an Emmy in 2006 for his role as Beverly Leslie on Will & Grace.
Representing Jordan’s agency, David Shaul said of him, “Not only was he a mega-talent and joy to work with, but he provided an emotional sanctuary to the nation at one of its most difficult times.”
