Marina Sirtis on Star Trek: Picard: “I’ve Signed So Many NDAs I Feel Like One of Trump’s Mistresses”
It’s no secret that the Rikers will play a part in the CBS All Access series Picard. Marina Sirtis, TNG’s Counselor Troi and Commander Riker’s Imzadi, spoke recently with Alberta, Canada’s Edmonton Journal about her time on the Picard set. The actress says it seemed like old times, which is good, since old times are all she was allowed to talk about. “I signed an NDA that was about four pages long,” said Sirtis, adding, “These days you need to sign an NDA sometimes before you go into audition. It’s amazing; I swear to God I’ve signed so many NDAs I feel like one of Trump’s mistresses.”
So - no Picard spoilers, though her comments about her fellow Star Trek veterans were all good things. Jonathan Frakes, TNG’s Riker and director of at least a couple episodes of Picard, is said by Sirtis to be her “favourite director of all time.” Sirtis said Sir Patrick Stewart - Picard himself - “kept this silly grin on his face the whole time.” She says he was “obviously thrilled.” And when Michael Dorn and LeVar Burton showed up for a set visit… well… a good time was had by all.
Sirtis also talked about the play she just wrapped in London’s West End, a couple of projects on the horizon, and the sense of inclusion found in fantasy and science fiction. You can find the full article on the website for the Edmonton Journal, and you can find Sirtis in Edmonton this weekend. She’ll be appearing Today through Sunday at Edmonton Expo.
