New Star Trek: Picard novel The Last Best Hope by Una McCormack now available
A new Star Trek novel - the first Picard tie-in - has just come out in bookstores.
The Last Best Hope, a new novel from veteran Star Trek author Una McCormack, tells a story featuring Jean-Luc Picard, which leads into the new series currently showing on CBS All Access.
Entertainment Weekly published an excerpt of the new book yesterday, an excerpt in two parts: the first, an older Picard in his La Barre estate remembering the past, and the second, a flashback to when he first learned about the Hobus supernova.
Una McCormack, the book’s author, is well-known in Trek circles. She has written seven previous Star Trek novels including the recent Star Trek: Discovery novel based on Ensign Tilly, The Way to the Stars. She’s also the author of The Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway, three more Deep Space Nine-themed novels, and a few Doctor Who novels to boot.
The Last Best Hope is available in hardback and digital formats, as well as in audiobook format, read by Robert Petkoff. Petkoff himself is an accomplished Star Trek narrator, having also read the recent Star Trek: Discovery Dead Endless by Dave Galanter, Star Trek: The Next Generation Collateral Damage by David Mack, and the Kelvin Timeline novel, Unsettling Stars by Alan Dean Foster.
