New Star Trek: Picard teaser trailer, and Hugh Borg makeup revealed
Two new sneak peeks for Star Trek: Picard dropped this week, keeping the buzz for the new series going, even over the holidays.
First up, last Friday, CBS All Access quietly posted a new teaser trailer for Picard on its Facebook page. TrekCentral conveniently reposted it on their YouTube channel, and TrekMovie grabbed some screenshots for you to check out, as well.
The trailer lasts a mere 30 seconds and is largely a jumble of provocative imagery. However, it does give us peeks at Ten Forward from aboard the Enterprise-D, more shots of a Borg cube, and new Picard character Dr. Agnes Jurati, about to take part in a mind meld. We also get our first look at a new character played by John Ales, who lies injured and tells Picard to “find the truth”.
In addition to the trailer, we’ve also had a first look at Jonathan Del Arco’s Hugh, without his Borg implants. An exclusive photo on TVLine shows Del Arco in full Hugh makeup. The former Borg drone is without most of the enhancements we last saw him with in Star Trek: The Next Generation. But there is still evidence of what was once there: a blue eye where a brown one should be, and metallic remnants and scars still on his face.
We’re now merely weeks away from the premiere of Star Trek: Picard. Just a reminder, the prequel comic series Star Trek: Picard - Countdown issues #1 and #2 are out now from IDW, and the Star Trek Short Treks Picard-prequel episode “The Children of Mars” will premiere on January 8th. All that is ahead Picard itself, which premieres on January 23rd in the US and Canada, and January 24th worldwide.
