Paramount Global Continues to Live Up to Its Name As Paramount+ Launches in Yet Another Country
SEPTEMBER 19, 2022 - Buongiorno! The news this morning has an Italian flavor, which no doubt Captain Pike would be able to handle in those spacious quarters aboard the Enterprise. That’s because Italians now have streaming access to at least some of the Star Trek shows currently in production by way of Paramount+.
TrekMovie noted last week that the global reach of Paramount+ continued with the service going live on September 15 in Italy. This follows up on the Paramount+ launch in the UK and Ireland back in June. The Trek shows included in the deal are Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Discovery, and Prodigy. Italians will continue to have access to Lower Decks and Picard via Amazon Prime Video. Access to Paramount+ is also included for those who subscribe to Sky Cinema, and original Italian content is on the menu in addition to lots of other Paramount+ offerings.
Further European launches are expected by the end of the year in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
More details on the Paramount+ launch in Italy and other news, including the European launch of the SkyShowtime streaming service from Paramount Global and Comcast, are in the full TrekMovie story.
