PREVIEW: Star Trek: Discovery Episodes 501 & 502
It’s been just over two years since we last encountered our heroes in the 32nd century. After such a long wait, they’re back this week, so let’s fly!
The first two episodes drop this week. In the first, “Red Directive,” Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery are sent to retrieve a mysterious artifact hidden inside a 800-year-old Romulan vessel – but find that they’re not the only ones on the hunt. Meanwhile, Saru is offered the position of a lifetime. The episode was written by showrunner Michelle Paradise and directed by Olatunde Osunsanmi.
In episode 2, “Under the Twin Moons,” on Saru’s last mission as Captain Burnham’s Number One, the team ventures to a seemingly abandoned planet to hunt for what might be the greatest treasure in the galaxy.
The final season of Star Trek: Discovery leaves space dock this Thursday, April 4 on Paramount+ until then, check out images from the first two episodes and the trailer, in case you missed it, below:
