Star Trek and Reading Rainbow’s LeVar Burton kicks off Twitter livestream series with a story by Neil Gaiman
Chief Engineer of the Enterprise-D - and our hearts - LeVar Burton is giving families a much-needed break by taking his podcast, LeVar Burton Reads, onto Twitter in a livestream format, starting today, April 3rd.
In a tweet on Tuesday, the Star Trek: The Next Generation and Reading Rainbow star posted, “THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 4th, it begins right here on @twitter”. He quickly replied to himself to say that he meant, of course, Friday, April 3rd. With the tweet was a photo, the artwork from his Stitcher podcast, LeVar Burton Reads, with a schedule superimposed on it, when the series of livestreams will take place.
…and by the 4th, I meant of course, the 3rd!

Starting today, Fridays are for adults, at 6pm PT/9pm ET. Burton is starting big, with a selection from Neil Gaiman, the superstar author behind books such as American Gods, Stardust and Good Omens. Last week, Burton had expressed his desire to start a livestream and asked Twitter for advice on public domain books he could use. Gaiman saw the tweet and replied, “You have my blanket permission for any of my stories Levar.” And now it’s all happening.
You have my blanket permission for any of my stories Levar.
