JANUARY 18, 2022 - In a post to StarTrek.com this week, Paramount+ announced several new premiere dates, and confirmed 10-episode season pickups for multiple series across the franchise.

To start, Star Trek: Discovery, currently on a mid-season break, has been renewed for a fifth season. New episodes begin on the streaming service February 10th. Star Trek: Picard will be back soon for its second season, with the first episode dropping Thursday, March 3rd. Hot on the heels of Picard, the first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will launch on Paramount+ May 5th. To sweeten the pot even further, that series has been renewed for a second season prior to the series premiere!

Moving over to the animated side of things, Star Trek: Lower Decks has been picked up for a fourth season. Fans can expect to see the third season of Lower Decks hitting screens sometime this summer. The second half of the first season of Star Trek: Prodigy will also make it to Paramount+ later in the year.

Along with the announcement, Star Trek Executive Producer Alex Kurtzman had a few words to share, saying, “Four years ago, we made a promise to grow ‘Star Trek’ into something it had never been before, and thanks to the incredibly hard work done by our many talented showrunners, writers, and directors, along with the extraordinary support of CBS Studios and Paramount+, we’re keeping our word [...] Now our current shows are set up for the future as we work to build ‘Trek’s’ next phase of programming for years to come.”
