Star Trek Fleet Command is expanding to include both Prime and Kelvin timelines in single mobile gaming experience
The award-winning mobile game Star Trek™ Fleet Command will be expanding the fleet this September. ViacomCBS and gaming leader Scopely announced yesterday that the popular game will be the first and only mobile Star Trek game to include every timeline in the Star Trek universe.
You heard that right.
Beginning on September 8th, otherwise known as “Star Trek Day”, a robust slate of storylines, characters, ships, and more from across the franchise will be integrated into the top-grossing MMO/strategy game, which, until now, has exclusively featured the “Kelvin Timeline” films produced between 2009 and 2016.
The expansion comes as Star Trek™ Fleet Command has risen in popularity since launching in November of 2018. Just how popular is it? On average, 78% of all players are playing seven days a week with a mind-blowing average of four hours of gameplay each day. Players have fought 5.8 billion in-game battles and the game has generated more than $250 million in lifetime revenue.
"Star Trek is a multi-generational franchise that continues to generate new iterations to meet the needs of its ever-growing loyal and passionate fan base," said Pam Kaufman, President of Global Consumer Products at ViacomCBS. “With this first-of-its-kind partnership, we are able to harness the combined power of the beloved brand to give gamers a unique opportunity to create their own new adventures utilizing an exciting title from an exceptional partner like Scopely."
Scopely’s “directed by consumer” format gives players the ability to select their own crew, missions and even in-game alliances, with player decisions impacting the intersecting Star Trek storylines as new content is added over the next several months.
Star Trek™ Fleet Command is created and published by Scopely and DIGIT, a Scopely Studio, and is available as a free download on iOS via the App Store and on Android via Google Play.
