Star Trek Online Awakening is Now Live on Xbox One and Playstation 4

Star Trek Online’s latest update, Awakening, has finally landed on Xbox One and Playstation 4. The new content, which features the voice talents of Anthony Rapp, debuted on the game’s PC platform in September, and arrived on consoles in this Tuesday’s patch.

In Awakening, players take on Star Trek: Discovery-era content, and embark on a “crucial mission to save the Mycelial Network.” According to the press release, “Star Trek Online: Awakening challenges players to recover Mycelial spore technology stolen by J’Ula, sister of T’Kuvma and matriarch of the Klingon House of Mo’Kai. In order to stop the Klingons from causing permanent damage to the Mycelial Network, captains will require the expertise of an astromycology expert. Together they will create a sentient hologram of Commander Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp) from the U.S.S. Discovery and repair rifts in the fabric of space.”

Along with the new Discovery-centric storylines, players will also have access to new endgame content, like a new ground-based Task Force Operation, new starships, and revamped existing systems.

Andre Emerson, Star Trek Online’s Executive producer said in a blog post, “We can’t wait for you to dive into the Mycelium and dig into this new story, and the start of the next era of Star Trek Online. Enjoy yourselves, and don’t eat the mushrooms. We’ll see you in game.”

Once again, Star Trek Online: Awakening is free-to-play and available now on Xbox One and Playstation 4. You can read an extensive list of all the new features included in the update, on Star Trek Online’s website.
