Star Trek Online celebrates its 10th anniversary with “Legacy” starring Jeri Ryan and Sonequa Martin-Green
Star Trek Online is celebrating an action-filled 10 years.
The massively multiplayer online role-playing game by Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic Studios is celebrating 10 years of exploring and expanding the Star Trek multiverse. And they’re doing it in style!
This year’s very special anniversary event is titled “Legacy”, and along with the usual in-game special events, players will also be treated to two brand-new featured episodes. Those featured episodes, called “Measure of Morality, parts 1 and 2”, feature the voice talent of Jeri Ryan, reprising her in-game role as Seven of Nine, and introduce Sonequa Martin-Green to the game as her Star Trek: Discovery character, Michael Burnham. In the episodes, “a strange anomaly calls players to Excalbia where they are tasked with proving once and for all that good is better than evil. Players will team up with heroes like Seven of Nine (Star Trek: Picard) and Michael Burnham (Star Trek: Discovery) to navigate a series of trials that pit them against some of Star Trek’s most dangerous enemies.”
In addition to the featured episodes, players will also be treated to a brand new Task Force Operations mission and the chance to earn the all-new Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser, the game’s first hybrid vessel that can be flown by players of any faction.
Andre Emerson, Star Trek Online’s executive producer said of this momentous anniversary, “These last ten years have been an incredible journey for Star Trek Online. And it feels like we’re only getting started. Over the last decade, we’ve had the honor and privilege of exploring all of the different series that really defined the Star Trek franchise. Looking forward, we are excited about diving further into new shows like Picard and Discovery and want to thank our wonderful community of players for being the reason why opportunities like this even exist.”
In ten years, which is practically a century in MMO terms, Star Trek Online has produced 183 episodes, four major expansions and 18 full seasons of playable content. The game has featured the voice talents of dozens of Star Trek cast members, including Leonard Nimoy, LeVar Burton, Rene Auberjonois, Anthony Rapp and many more.
Star Trek Online Legacy, which is free to play, is available on PC now, and due to be released on Xbox One and Playstation 4 on March 3rd. Find out more at startrekonline.com.
