Star Trek: Prodigy, Season One Part Two Is Available for Preorder
JULY 14, 2023 - Star Trek fans eager to catch up on the first season of Star Trek: Prodigy following its removal from the Paramount+ streaming service are having to deal with a hiccup in the ordering process. After initially being available on Amazon, pre-orders for the second volume of the show's inaugural season, comprising episodes 11-20, have vanished from the online retailer.
According to an update on TrekMovie.com, the Amazon pre-order links for Star Trek: Prodigy Season 1 Part 2 DVD and Blu-Ray were taken down on July 13.
All hope is not lost, however, as fans can still pre-order the DVD and Blu-Ray at Target.
The release of the first volume of Prodigy's first season, encompassing the initial 10 episodes, took place in January and received positive reviews. Now, fans can look forward to owning the next set of episodes, as volume 2 is slated to arrive on September 26.
The listings for the preorders currently lack specific details about the releases, beyond mentioning that each volume will include 2 discs. Interested fans can pre-order the DVD for $17.99 or the Blu-ray for $21.99.
At this stage, official box art and information about any special features for the release have not been disclosed. Despite being available for pre-order at Target and receiving confirmation from Digital Bits that it will be released on September 26, Paramount has yet to make an official announcement.
Traditionally, such an announcement would include additional details and provide a first look at the packaging. Therefore, it's possible that some aspects of this release, such as specific features, may still be subject to change.
In the meantime, fans can get their hands on the novel Star Trek Prodigy: A Dangerous Trade written by Cassandra Rose Clarke which was nominated this week for a Scribe Award in the Best Young Adult / Middle Grade Novel category. Also nominated in the category are Squirrel Girl Universe by Tristan Palmgren, Star Wars: The High Republic – Quest for the Hidden City by George Mann, The Mystery of Lucy Wilson: Memories of the Future by George Ivanoff, and Tower of Nerek by David Guymer.
