The Star Trek Universe will focus on upcoming animated series Prodigy and Lower Decks at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con @Home

Star Trek: Lower Decks and Star Trek: Prodigy, both coming to San Diego Comic-Con@Home, July 2021

JULY 11, 2021 - If you happen to be coming off the weekend in a funk because the convention you attended, virtually or otherwise, is over, fear not. Again this year, San Diego Comic-Con will be coming to you as Comic-Con@Home and it’ll be offering Trek-related programming, including a Star Trek Universe session with voices and others behind both of the current animated series, Star Trek: Lower Decks season two and the upcoming Nickelodeon series Star Trek: Prodigy.

According to StarTrek.com, Comic-Con@Home will feature back-to-back panels starting with cast members and producers from Star Trek: Prodigy, including “voice cast Kate Mulgrew, Brett Gray, Ella Purnell, Angus Imrie, Rylee Alazraqui, Dee Bradley Baker and Jason Mantzoukas alongside executive producers Kevin Hageman and Dan Hageman and director/co-executive producer Ben Hibon”. That panel will be followed by “Star Trek: Lower Decks voice cast members Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid and Eugene Cordero alongside creator Mike McMahan for an exclusive conversation and an extended look at the second season.” The panels begin at 10am PT on Friday, July 23rd.

This will be the second year that Comic-Con International has offered a free, virtual San Diego Comic Con, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The convention will run from Friday, July 23rd to Sunday, July 25th but will include limited programming beginning Wednesday, July 21st.

To see the convention schedule, also with other Trek-related sessions throughout the weekend, including the likes of Larry Nemecek and the Inglorious Treksperts podcast, head to comic-con.org. All the Comic-Con@Home panels will be available on Comic-Con’s YouTube channel. And to catch up on season one of Star Trek: Lower Decks prior to the event, it’s streaming now on Paramount+.
