JUNE 24, 2022 - International toy company TOMY, whose mission statement is “to make the world smile,” is certainly bringing smiles to fans of Star Trek with their announcement of a limited edition crowdfunded die-cast replica of the original NCC-1701 flagship. Dubbed the Prestige Select USS Enterprise, the 1/350 scale model will feature motorized nacelles, lights, and an eye-catching attention to detail including an illuminated bridge, a glowing impulse drive, and a hangar deck complete with three TOS-era shuttlecraft.

Crafted with the help of Gary Kerr, who oversaw the refurbishment of the original TV series Enterprise currently on display at the Smithsonian, the model weighs nearly 20 pounds and can be separated into primary and secondary hulls, each with a base for display. It comes in collectible packaging and is a one-time limited production, making it a collectible of the highest order.

As a crowdfunded product, the replica will only go into production if 5000 backers commit to purchase by July 11 th . A commitment of $599 secures the model along with free shipping (to the continental US only).
