WATCH: The first full-length trailer (and premiere date!) for upcoming animated series Star Trek: Prodigy
SEPTEMBER 8, 2021 - It’s official. Star Trek: Prodigy will premiere on October 28th, 2021. News of the premiere date and a full trailer for the first season were released Tuesday during the Star Trek Day panel for the series.
Just over a week ago, fans got a brief glimpse into the upcoming series with the release of the main title sequence and theme music for Prodigy. This new trailer is bringing audiences a whole lot more.
In the trailer, fans get a chance to meet our cast, a group of wayward children looking to escape and looking for somewhere to belong. It seems the U.S.S. Protostar might fulfill both of those needs, as the newly-assembled crew takes the ship for their own and blasts into the cosmos.
The learning curve is, as you might expect, a bit of a challenge. Even with the help of a holographic Janeway, it’s a bumpy ride as the crew irons out the kinks of learning to pilot a starship “on the fly”. All seems to be going well until we discover our newfound heroes aren’t the only ones interested in the Protostar. Tension mounts as the Protostar is pursued. Thankfully, the crew manages to find the “pew pew button” to get the phasers online.
