Destination Star Trek London has been postponed to November 2021 due to COVID-19
Sad news today for fans looking forward to Destination Star Trek London this November: the London version of Europe’s Official Star Trek Convention has been postponed to late next year.
The news comes just a month after Destination Star Trek London’s sister show in Dortmund, Germany similarly postponed their event. The Germany con is now scheduled to take place next June.
In an email to fans, the convention’s organizers said, “Due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19 it is with great sadness we must postpone this November’s Destination Star Trek event in London. We hope you understand that our most important consideration is your health and safety and at the moment there is just no way to bring you the event that you deserve and ensure you are safe at it. So, we have decided to move Destination Star Trek to a time when we can hopefully all be together in a risk free environment and so enjoy the event.”
The new dates are the 12th to 14th of November, 2021, and it will still be taking place at London’s ExCeL convention center. The organizers have promised that it will still be centered around Star Trek: Voyager’s 30th anniversary, and will feature new guests from all over the Star Trek franchise.
If you’ve already purchased tickets, they will automatically be valid for the new dates. It gets a little more complicated if you can’t make it. Like Destination Star Trek Germany, if you can’t attend in 2021, you won’t automatically get a refund. You’ll first be issued a voucher that can be used at any Destination Star Trek event or on Destination Star Trek merchandise, between now and December 2022. If you don’t use your voucher by then, Destination Star Trek will issue you a refund.
