ICYMI: Star Trek: Prodigy producer Aaron J. Waltke just spoiled all of season 2
FEBRUARY 10, 2022 - Aaron J. Waltke is a writer and producer on Star Trek: Prodigy and apparently a bit of a wag. Or is he…?
Waltke recently tweeted out a picture with a post that read, “We don’t have a ship model yet, but we do have these cool medallions.” The medallion in question features the text, “USS Protostar NX-76884” with a view of the Protostar amidst stylized stars and other design features. The tweet was in reply to fellow Star Trek producer Mike McMahan, who had posted pictures of a prototype model of the USS Cerritos, from Star Trek: Lower Decks.
However, on the desk behind the medallion sits a notebook. And that notebook is open. And the page to which it is open reads at the top, “Season 2 Ideas.” And those ideas are clearly legible:
Mark Twain returns (Time’s Arrow, Part 3)
Fourvix (call Mike to confirm works w/ his idea)
Captain Tendi finally reveals she is Chakotay from Alt timeline
Dal reveals all of TNG was a holodeck program he created
While we do know that Star Trek: Prodigy has been renewed for a second season, only time’s arrow will determine whether any of these ideas make it past Aaron Waltke’s desk and onto our screens (our guess: it might be a stretch!) For now, you can catch up on the first half of Star Trek: Prodigy season one, now streaming on Paramount+.
