IMDb: Star Trek: Picard is the most anticipated TV series of 2020
Star Trek: Picard is the most anticipated new TV show of 2020, according to a new report from IMDb.
Yesterday, IMDb announced its Top 10 Movies and TV Shows of 2019, and Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies and TV Shows of 2020. To compile their lists, IMDb studied pageviews of content across their site, from the more than 200 million monthly viewers who visit it. “This exclusive and definitive data is derived from the IMDbPro movie and TV rankings, which are updated weekly throughout the year,” the announcement said.
Their list of upcoming 2020 TV shows, in particular, are ones that “will have series premieres in 2020 and consistently ranked highest on the IMDbPro proprietary weekly TV rankings throughout 2019.”
Perhaps unsurprisingly for Star Trek fans, Star Trek: Picard comes in at the #1 most anticipated position, followed by Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and The New Pope, starring Jude Law. Rounding out the Top 10 are: The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Snowpiercer (a rebooted, serialized version of the 2013 film), Stephen King’s The Stand, Stephen King’s The Outsider, Stargirl (the CW series based on the DC Comics), Hunters (with Al Pacino), and Riverdale spinoff Katy Keene.
Star Trek: Picard is set to debut on January 23rd, 2020.
