Love Physical Media? You Can Pre-order the ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ DVD and Blu-Ray Sets Right Now
SEPTEMBER 22, 2022 - In season four of Star Trek: Discovery, Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery faced a threat unlike any they’ve ever encountered. With Federation and non-Federation worlds alike feeling the impact, they must confront the unknown and work together to ensure a hopeful future for all.
Now, according to a press release from CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Pictures, your opportunity to revisit Discovery’s adventures – or to experience them for the first time – arrives near year-end, with the release of DISCO season four on DVD, Blu-ray, and in a Limited Edition Blu-ray Steelbook.
The releases include all thirteen episodes plus over 90 minutes of special features. These include a behind-the-scenes production featurette; Sonequa Martin-Green on being Captain Michael Burnham; an exploration of the AR wall for visual effects; reflections from the cast and crew on the toll taken by the COVID-19 pandemic; exclusive commentary on the season finale; deleted scenes; and a gag reel.
For the tech heads among you, the Blu-ray, DVD, and Blu-ray Steelbook are presented in widescreen format and offer English SDH subtitles. The Blu-ray and Blu-ray Steelbook include English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and 5.1 Dolby Digital in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish (Castilian) audio; as well as English, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Spanish (Castilian) and Swedish subtitles. The DVD features 5.1 Surround Dolby Digital audio, as well as English and French subtitles.
The worldwide releases vary, and begin on December 5 in the UK, followed by December 6 in the US; December 7 in France, Japan, and Australia; December 8 in Germany; December 15 in Italy and Spain; and January 9, 2023, in the Nordics.
