Meg Liberman, Executive Vice President of CBS Studios, Announces Retirement
JANUARY 13, 2023 - She has been in the television and film casting business since the 1970s, when she went to work for her mother casting such shows as Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley. Meg Liberman, Executive Vice President and head of casting at CBS Studios has announced her retirement, according to Deadline.
Liberman came to CBS in 2008 following a career as a casting director for such projects as My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Seinfeld, and 3rd Rock from the Sun. Since her arrival at CBS, she has overseen the casting of over 350 projects, including the NCIS and Star Trek franchises.
In her announcement, Liberman listed Star Trek among her favorites.
The president of CBS Studios, David Stapf, said in part of his statement, “I think we would all agree that Meg is much more than a casting savant – she is an incredible human being. She is smart, passionate, generous and always unflappable – the epitome of grace under pressure.”
Liberman won three Emmy Awards over eleven nominations and garnered 56 Artios Award nominations from the Casting Society of America.
