Star Trek: Discovery executive producer Olatunde Osunsanmi inks overall deal with CBS Studios
FEBRUARY 28, 2022 - Following an early career writing, producing, and directing films, including The Fourth Kind and Evidence, producer/director Olatunde Osunsanmi has been busy on the television side of things and, according to Deadline, has now signed a multi-year, overall deal with CBS Studios.
Osunsanmi has directed episodes of a variety of series, including The Last Ship, Gotham, and, for CBS, Extant and Under the Dome. Star Trek fans know him as a producer and as the director, so far, of two episodes of Star Trek: Short Treks (“Calypso” and “The Girl Who Made the Stars”) and 10 episodes of Star Trek: Discovery, most recently the season four episode, “Anomaly.”
His first project under the new contract is already underway, the science fiction drama Myth, the pilot of which he will direct.
CBS Studios is a subsidiary of CBS Entertainment Group, a unit of the newly rebranded Paramount Global, and is the production company behind the Star Trek television universe.
The full announcement is at Deadline, and you can see Osunsanmi’s directorial skills on display on Star Trek: Short Treks and Star Trek: Discovery, both streaming now on Paramount+.
