MEME REVIEW MONDAY: A Meme On Memes, An Org Chart, and One Q's Opinion
NOVEMBER 13, 2023 - Hello and welcome back to another Meme Review Monday! I’m super proud of the selection I’ve curated for you all this week so let’s jump right into it!
First up we have a meme that was circulating Tumblr a bit ago and that I find very funny.
This meme started circulating after Robert Beltran liked a tweet saying that real Star Trek Fans don’t have pronouns and the gay and trans flag in their social media bios. I found that to be hilarious because throughout all of its existence, Star Trek has always been at the forefront of social change. This is a meme review so I won’t go on my rant on how woke Star Trek really is but if you want it let me know, because I certainly can in a different article.
Next we have a meme I also found on tumblr though it has been reblogged so many times I do not know who the original creator is.
I love alignment chart memes and I think this one is absolutely great. My only note is that I would move Adira closer to “would never dream of breaking Starfleet regulations.” This meme also made me realize that Tendi and Tilly would be great friends.
Next up we have a meme from @robintreks on Instagram
I always love a good Harry Kim meme. Poor guy. This also made me realize that the lower deckers are officially higher in rank than Harry Kim (which I totally think the Lower Decks writers should mention if they haven’t yet).
Next up we have a meme from @socialistsinspace on Instagram.
I have never felt more represented by a meme. This meme is essentially my job here at DSTN. I also highly suggest you check out their Instagram account as they make very high-quality Star Trek memes and make iconic Star Trek meme formats.
Next up we have a meme from @startrekmemes_ on instagram.
I loved this meme for a multitude of reasons. First I love to imagine O’Brien as the family IT guy of DS9 because that is literally his job. As the resident family IT guy I also feel very represented by this meme and O’Brien as a character.
Next up we have another meme from @socialistsinspace on instagram.
Every time I see a meme from this account I have to check to make sure I’m not ghost posting. I have never felt more represented by a meme account in my life. This is exactly what I do. I found out that one of my professors watches Star Trek and I continue to talk to him about it every day after class.
Next up we have a meme from @HeatherLanePA on X.
As a huge Star Wars fan I love it when there are meme crossovers. I also love puns. All that is to say, this meme is absolutely perfect in every way.
Next up we have a meme from @davidmcgeoch9 on Twitter.
I really like this meme as it is effectively a summary of “Encounter at Farpoint.” I am also a huge Q fan so I will appreciate any Q meme there is.
Finally, we have a meme made by yours truly (though I got the template from @socialistsinspace
This may be a hyper-niche meme, however, this is my meme review so I can make whatever memes I want. As a college student, this is pretty much my life right now. I work so that I can watch Star Trek but there is always more homework.
Ok, that’s all I have for you guys today! I’ll see you next week!
