Pacific Opera Project performs a Star Trek-themed version of Mozart’s opera, Abduction from the Seraglio

Pacific Opera Project is holding a very special Star Trek-themed livestream event this evening, Wednesday, April 8th, at 5pm PT. POP (as they’re called) are rebroadcasting their hit production of Mozart’s opera, Abduction from the Seraglio, which was recorded in September of 2016. This special performance features a cast of more than 40 singing and dancing Klingons, Orion slave girls, and of course, Starfleet officers. POP says it’s “an exploration of innovative, entertaining opera at warp speed.” And the Pasadena Independent says, “Whether you are a rabid Star Trek fan or just versed enough to get by in pop culture, this zany and pitch-perfect opera triumphs in pure laugh-out-loud hilarity.”

This evening’s event isn’t just the performance, though: the livestream will feature interviews with the cast, plus interactive elements like costume contests, drink recipes and more. It’ll also feature an update from POP’s Artistic Director about their plans for the rest of the season.

The livestream of Pacific Opera Project’s Star Trek-themed Abduction from the Seraglio will be available on their YouTube channel, or you can find out more on their website, pacificoperaproject.com. Once again, that’s on tonight, from 5pm PT, on the Pacific Opera Project’s YouTube channel.
