JUNE 1, 2022 - After last week’s encounter with an unseen, though familiar, enemy, this week’s Star Trek: Strange New Worlds offers up some more familiar territory and a chance to see some of our heroes off duty. Episode five of this first season of SNW in entitled, “Spock Amok.”

In this episode, it’s a comedy of manners when Spock has a personal visit in the middle of Spock and Captain Pike’s crucial negotiations with an unusual alien species. The episode was written by Henry Alonso Myers and Robin Wasserman and was directed by Rachel Leiterman. Myers previously worked on “Children of the Comet,” and both Myers and Wasserman have produced on SNW. Leiterman’s directing credits include The Man in the High Castle and The Walking Dead: The World Beyond.

In this week’s photos, we see multiple shots of Spock and T’Pring, including some scenes on Vulcan involving the familiar gong and lirpa, hearkening back to the Star Trek: The Original Series season two episode, “Amok Time.” We also see Nurse Chapel and Lt. Ortegas enjoying an opportunity to relax.

“Spock Amok” arrives this Thursday, June 2, on Paramount+.
