FEBRUARY 22, 2023 - The next big issue of the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds comic book tie-in is almost upon us.

IDW continues their first tie-in to the series, entitled “The Illyrian Enigma,” which is set after the events of the season 1 finale and before the upcoming second season. It’s written by Strange New Worlds co-executive producer Kirsten Beyer, teaming up again with Trek comics veteran Mike Johnson (Picard-Stargazer, Discovery-Adventures in the 32nd Century, Light of Kahless). The art for the four-issue miniseries is being drawn by Megan Levens (Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Star Trek: The Mirror War-Troi).

We’ve heard people tell Mr. Spock that he has a heart of stone, well, now it’s true, and every other square inch of him as well. The Illyrian Enigma #3 (of 4) synopsis:

Captain Pike and the crew of the Enterprise delve deeper into the mystery surrounding the Illyrians! With the fate of Number One at stake, a secret is revealed that will shake the Federation to its core!

We’re also treated to a 5-page preview to whet our Trek-appetites:

For a man turned into stone, Spock appears to still be getting around pretty well.

The issue is available to purchase at your favorite comic shop, or online. Digital editions can be found at Amazon/ComiXology through the link above.

Thanks, as always to TrekMovie

Thaddeus Tuffentsamer is an internationally selling author. His books have been sold in the US, the UK, Sweden, Germany, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Italy, and France. He has a series of young reader novels, a satirical self-help book, (which, according to reviews, actually has some pretty solid counsel), and has joined the list of professional Sherlock Holmes authors.

He promises that his works will never contain profanity, gratuitous violence, or anything else that would prevent the entire family from enjoying them together.

He spends his days working in healthcare administration and in his evenings, in between plans for becoming “Lord Emperor of everything,” he types away at his keyboard letting his imagination out for the world to read.

He is fortunate to have a wonderful wife and two beautiful daughters. He currently lives in Goodyear Arizona with his wife.
