Star Trek events: Thursday, August 6th - Wednesday, August 12, 2020
Some of you will be spending the weekend watching Star Trek: Lower Decks over and over again. And that’s okay! But for the rest of us...here are some virtual Star Trek events to attend, instead.
In-House Con: Actors from the Star Trek Universe - Saturday, August 8th
First up, In-House Con is putting on another virtual event, this time with Discovery stars Sara Mitich, Hannah Spear and David Benjamin Tomlinson, and Star Trek guest star Michael Krawic. This event takes place this Saturday, August 8th, at 12pm PT.
Tickets are required and cost $3.99, or you can get a pass to all the In-House Con events in August for $14.00. You can also purchase signed 8x10s and video chats with the guests. To find out more, head to inhouse-con.com.
GalaxyCon Live: Klingons - Sunday, August 9th
Then on Sunday, August 9th, from 4pm ET, GalaxyCon Live is also back with another virtual event, this one featuring Star Trek’s Klingons! J.G. Hertzler and Robert O’Reilly, who played Martok and Gowron, respectively, will be on hand for an interview.
As with all GalaxyCon Live events, tickets are free, but required, and you can choose to purchase autographs as well. To find out more, head to galaxycon.com.
Denise Crosby Dramaversity - Sunday, August 9th
And finally, also on Sunday, August 9th, but at 6pm PT, Denise Crosby is hosting a Dramaversity session called “One Night Only: A conversation with Star Trek: The Next Generation and The Walking Dead actress Denise Crosby”. She’ll be sharing personal stories from her career and taking questions from the audience.
Tickets cost $39.00 and are in limited supply. For more information, head to dramaversity.com/courses.
The regular stuff
Finally, some stuff I’ve told you about before that are still going on:
These are the Twitter watchalongs:
#allstartrek runs Sunday through Friday at 8/7C and follows the Heroes and Icons Channel’s All Star Trek programme.
#TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and
#StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.
Then there’s Star Trek: Netflix Party, hosted daily and coordinated on Facebook. Every evening, they use the Netflix Party Chrome extension to watch Star Trek together. To find out more, head over to Star Trek: Netflix Party on Facebook.
If you have an online event or gathering you’d like me to promote on the show, let me know! How are YOU getting together with your fellow Trekkies, without leaving the house?
