Star Trek: Where Science Meets Imagination: Friday, June 2

Jess Bush and Morgan Gendel will be part of a panel discussing the impact of science fiction on space exploration and policy. The gathering will take place tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. ET in the Universe Theatre at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, Merritt Island, Florida. Hollywood Charity Horse Show: Saturday, June 3 (SOLD OUT, BUT….)

William and Elizabeth Shatner bring together world-class reining horses and riders to compete for top honors in their respective classes. The Greatest Generation Live: The Re-Encounter at Farpoint: Saturday, Jun 3

Join Ben and Adam of The Greatest Generation podcast on June 3rd at the Bell House in Brooklyn, for a special one-off live show where we will determine once and for all who is the Drunk Shimoda of “Encounter at Farpoint.” (Don’t remember the Drunk Shimoda? We’ll Celebrate Anything: Sunday, June 4

Redshirts: Musical Star Trek Improv, Kathryn Fabbroni, and Space Station Awesome will “honor the fluffy four-legged little jerks some of us just can’t help loving” on National Hug Your Cat Day. o   #allstartrek runs Sunday through Friday at 8/7C and follows the Heroes and Icons Channel’s All Star Trek programme.

o   #TOSSatNight starts at 9pm PT on Saturday night and follows a different episode of The Original Series every week, and

o   #StarTrekHour is a Q&A-format event, every Tuesday at 1pm PT.

·Then there’s Star Trek: Watch Party, hosted daily and coordinated on Facebook. Every evening, they use the Teleparty browser extension to watch Star Trek together. To find out more, head over to Star Trek: Watch Party on Facebook.

· Join Grey Havens Philosophy and Outworld Brewing every first Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. as they discuss the big ideas inspired by Star Trek. The gatherings are at Outworld Brewing, in Longmont, Colorado. Attendance is free, but an RSVP for planning purposes is appreciated at Eventbrite.

·And finally, there’s Sid City Social Club, hosted by Star Trek: Deep Space Nine star Alexander Siddig’s official fan website. They meet twice monthly on the first Tuesday and third Friday of every month, with occasional pop-up meetings with Sid as his schedule allows. ·Ongoing through October, Starship Edsel is a Star Trek inspired farce set aboard the Federation Starship Edsel towards the end of the 24th century. It is based upon a LARP written and developed by Brandon Brylawski, who is also a producer and head writer on this show. Performances take place at the Otherworld Theatre, in Chicago. ·Ongoing through March 2024, the National Museum of African American History and Culture hosts the exhibition, “Afrofuturism: A History of Black Futures,” which includes a uniform worn by Nichelle Nichols.

·Ongoing Saturdays through June 3, join To Boldly Go for a Star Trek variety show and benefit, starting at 6 p.m. ET at the Barracuda Lounge in New York City. Included are drag shows, 2-for-1 drinks, bingo & trivia, and prizes & giveaways. Free tickets are available at Eventbrite.
