‘Star Trek’ Is Bringing a Lot to the Table at This Year’s San Diego Comic-Con

JULY 12, 2023 - San Diego Comic-Con 2023 is just around the corner, and Star Trek fans have several exciting highlights to look forward to during the event. TrekMovie.com has provided details on various official panels and activations related to the Star Trek Universe.

One of the key events for Star Trek enthusiasts is the Star Trek Universe panel scheduled for Saturday, July 22, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM in Hall H. The official description promises exclusive content from Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. While the specific lineup of cast and creatives from Paramount has yet to be revealed, it is expected to be a mix of talent from the three shows. Fans can anticipate the release of key art and/or trailers as part of the exclusive content. Notably, a Discovery season 5 trailer was unveiled at NYCC last year, but there have been no visual teasers released for Lower Decks' upcoming season 4. As for Strange New Worlds, due to production challenges caused by the WGA and potential SAG strikes, details about the show's future may be limited. However, given that the panel coincides with the release of episode 7 from season 2 of Lower Decks (which includes a crossover), there is a possibility of tantalizing new information. In addition to the main booth, Star Trek apparel licensee Hero Within will host a special activation called the Energize Lounge, located at 332 J Street in the Gaslamp, just one block from the Convention Center. Described as an "intimate Star Trek-themed experience," the Energize Lounge aims to provide fans with a chance to relax, recharge, and connect with fellow Trekkies. Alongside the Hero Within Star Trek Collection, visitors can also enjoy Star Trek promos from IDW Publishing, RockLove Jewelry, and the Star Trek Cruise. The Energize Lounge will be open from Thursday to Sunday, 8 AM to 10 PM.

Additionally, Paramount+ is partnering with Fandom for the sixth annual Fandom Party, which includes a "Fan Central" featuring interactive photo booths, an exclusive gaming activation, giveaways, and an augmented reality (AR) experience. One of the highlights of the Fandom Party will be an activation dedicated to Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. The party is scheduled to take place at FLOAT, located at the Hard Rock Hotel, on July 20 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
