Star Trek Online Defense of Pahvo event, plus La Sirena added to promotional ship pack

Two exciting events are making their way to Star Trek Online, starting today. First, the Defense of Pahvo Featured Event will give players the opportunity to earn great prizes, and second, for you Star Trek: Picard fans out there, Captain Cris Rios’ ship, La Sirena, is coming to the game as part of a promotional prize pack. I’ll get onto La Sirena shortly, but first let’s look at the new featured event.
Cryptic Studios, the developers behind Star Trek Online, announced the Defense of Pahvo event last week. In a statement, they said, “The time has come for Star Trek Online players to return to Pahvo, the mysterious forest planet that was first introduced in Star Trek: Discovery and featured in the game’s Awakening update. From May 7 - 28, captains hailing from all of the game’s factions can participate in the Defense of Pahvo Event on PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.”
By completing the event’s missions, the statement said, players will have the opportunity to earn the exclusive KIDD Drone Universal Kit, as well as a host of other goodies.
But what about that ship?!
La Sirena is coming to Star Trek Online as part of a Research and Development and Duty Officer Pack promotion, which, like the Defense of Pahvo event, runs today, through May 28th. For those of you who may not know how those promotions work, basically, when you purchase a special promotional pack of either R&D materials (used in crafting) or Duty Officers (used in side missions), there’s a chance that when you open said pack, you could find a ship inside.
In a blog post announcing La Sirena’s addition to the game, Star Trek Online said, “We are excited to announce a new addition to this Promotional Ship Pack: the star of Star Trek: Picard, the La Sirena Heavy Raider [T6]! A starship boasting this much maneuverability, durability, and flexibility, will offer its brave captain the opportunity to forge a brighter future for allies across the galaxy. And with specialized technology like its Fundamental Field Projector, even the smallest spark can ignite the stars.”
