Star Trek: Picard soundtrack from Jeff Russo available for pre-order, releases February 7th
If you can’t get enough of the sounds of Star Trek: Picard, then you’re in for a treat. The official soundtrack to the hit CBS All Access show is coming out soon...but beware! If you’re trying to avoid spoilers, probably best to avoid the track list until Picard is finished.
According to a piece from Film Music Reporter, “The album features selections of the original music from the first part of the show’s first season, composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Russo [...] including the composer’s end title theme.” The album also features two tracks from the score of the Picard prequel Short Treks episode “Children of Mars”.
The Star Trek: Picard - Season 1, Chapter 1 soundtrack is available to preorder now on Amazon, and it comes out on February 7th. However, following a somewhat disappointing trend in the film and television soundtrack industry, the titles of the tracks telegraph pretty well what we can expect - and in what order - through at least the first half of the series. Titles like “Walking with Number One” and “Picard and Dahj speak” are indicative of the level of detail you can expect, and with 24 tracks covering around 5 episodes, it wouldn’t be hard to piece together the bulk of the action.
Nevertheless, if you simply can’t wait to play and replay the Picard theme in your own home, the soundtrack might be for you. Once again, it comes out this Friday, February 7th, spoilers and all.
