UPDATE: TrekNews.net have removed their original post. However, you can still find showings and cinemas on Fandango’s site. There are no times or theaters on AMC’s website but you can sign up to be reminded.
In honor of Star Trek: The Motion Picture’s 40th Anniversary this year, Fathom Events is releasing the film in theaters, on a limited basis.
TrekNews.net reported that Fathom Events, the distributor known for putting on one-off cinematic events, has once again paired up with AMC Theatres to offer a special screening of the big screen Trek outing, for one night only, September 15th. Fathom Events is no stranger to releasing Trek on the big screen; previously, they’ve had showings of The Next Generation’s “Best of Both Worlds”, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and even the Deep Space Nine documentary, What We Left Behind.
Tickets are not yet available for the screening of The Motion Picture, but you can sign up to be notified when they are, on AMC Theatres’ website, or on Fandango.com, now.
