The Star Trek: Lower Decks original series soundtrack is coming out this week
OCTOBER 3, 2021 - "Why even listen to Klingon if it isn't punky or acidic?" The music that D’Vana Tendi was referring to in the Star Trek: Lower Decks episode, “We’ll Always Have Tom Paris” was actually written by Chris Westlake (with lyrics translated by Marc Okrand).
Chris Westlake is the series composer for Lower Decks, and Film Music Reporter has revealed that the first volume of Westlake’s music from the first two seasons of the show is coming soon, from Lakeshore Records. The release will feature selections from the original soundtracks.
Westlake completed his studies at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music and also studied classical and flamenco guitar with Celino Romero and Sharon Isbin. He has written scores for both film and television, including Before We Go and Castle Rock, executive produced by J. J. Abrams, et al.
Star Trek: Lower Decks: Original Series Soundtrack Volume 1 will be released digitally on October 8. You can preorder it now at Amazon.com. For more information, including the track list, head over to FilmMusicReporter.com.
