We’re heading into the weekend, so today I felt like doing a special little thing I like to call the “Weekend Meme-Watch”. Maybe it will stick around, maybe it won’t, but for now it’ll at least be a bit of fun! I’ve got two memes to check out today, that have been making the rounds on Twitter.

First up: Brent Spiner is bad at Zoom. On Thursday morning, he tweeted, “I need to learn how to use zoom!” and attached a short video of him doing an interview via the popular videoconferencing app. Only...the call doesn’t end how you think it will. Watch to the end to see the full musical number. Oh yes, it’s a musical number.

And don’t forget, if you need a bit of help with your Zoom skills too, you can start with a nifty virtual background. Star Trek and Star Trek Online have both released sets of official backgrounds, so you can conduct your Monday meetings from the comfort of your very own starship.

Next up: how would you build your Star Trek quarantine crew? Star Trek tweeted yesterday too: “You have $15 to build your #StarTrek Quarantine Crew. Who will you choose?” Choices ranged from Ensign Tilly, much maligned at a paltry $1, all the way up to the venerable Jean-Luc Picard at $5. There are 25 characters across 5 tiers to choose from. As Star Trek says, “Who will you choose?” I bet they’re not as good as mine.
