18 Star Trek actors join Georgia Democratic Senate candidates Warnock and Ossoff for Star Trek: The Next Election

All the Star Trek stars have lined up for the Georgia Democratic Senate candidates

DECEMBER 10, 2020  - Deadline has reported that 18 Star Trek actors are expected to appear at a virtual fundraiser this Saturday in support of Georgia Democratic Senate candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. The event is called “Star Trek: The Next Election” and comes three weeks ahead of Georgia’s runoff election, which will be held January 5th. This election is critical in deciding whether Democrats or Republicans will control the United States Senate.

Cast members from five different Star Trek series will be on hand during the fundraiser. This includes Alison Pill (no relation), Anthony Rapp, Brent Spiner, Evan Evagora, Gates McFadden, George Takei, Isa Briones, Jeri Ryan, Jonathan Del Arco, Jonathan Frakes, Kate Mulgrew, LeVar Burton, Marina Sirtis, Michelle Hurd, Santiago Cabrera, Sonequa Martin-Green, Wil Wheaton and Wilson Cruz. Notable politician, activist, and Star Trek fan Stacey Abrams will moderate the event. Back in October, Abrams and many of the same actors gathered in support of the Trek the Vote to Victory fundraiser in support of then-presidential candidate Joe Biden.

The live streaming event will be held on Saturday, December 12th, at 6pm ET. Tickets are required and you can purchase one by making a donation to the fundraiser. Minimum donations begin with the “Tribble” tier at just $5. For those who want to contribute more, different levels are available, each with a Star Trek-themed name, all the way up to the “Vulcan” tier with a $500 donation. All proceeds go to benefit the Georgia Senate Victory Fund.
